Which jewelry cleaner should I use?

It is essential to maintain your jewelry in good condition. It can be difficult as there are many ways to care for your jewelry. Modern technology makes this a simple task. Two types of jewelry cleaning machines are popular: ultrasonic jewelry cleaners or jewelry steam cleaner. These machines have the main advantage of allowing you to clean your jewellery at home. These machines can clean your jewelry professionally, but they do it in different ways.

Ultrasonic jewelry cleaner

Ultrasonic jewelry cleaners use high frequency sound waves. Ultrasonic waves create millions of microscopic bubbles that clean jewelry. These cleaners don’t need the same chemical as traditional methods for cleaning jewelry. You only need to use tap water and a little water-soluble cleaner solution.

Jewelry ultrasonic cleaner can be used to clean precious metal jewelry like gold, silver and platinum. They are also great for cleaning hard gemstones such as sapphires and diamonds. There are many features that ultrasonic jewelry cleaners have.

Steam cleaner for jewelry

High pressure steam is used to clean jewelry steam cleaners. They are more environmentally friendly than ultrasonic cleaners, as they don’t need any cleaning solution. Although some manufacturers suggest presoaking jewelry in a solution prior to using a steamer, this is not required to get great results.

Which one should I use?

This question is a bit tricky. It all comes down to your personal preference and the factors that matter to you most. Each machine is great at its job, but each machine has its own strengths and weaknesses. It’s a smart idea to use both.

However, owning both machines can get quite expensive. If you are concerned about price and can’t afford one of these machines I recommend an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner.  A
jewelry steamer is a good choice if price is not a concern.

It is clear that ultrasonic jewelry cleaners or jewelry steamers are ideal tools for cleaning and maintaining jewelry. Both types of cleaners will work well for you, but they each have their own unique ways of working. I hope this post has helped to distinguish some of the main advantages/disadvantages of both types of machines.
